amygdala

My amygdala needs to go on vacation.

It's involvement in my emotions and memories with fears have gone too far. We must make room for the prefrontal cortex so I might continue to grow into someone who has more control of their goals and situations around her. I must began to discern what is danger and what is safety. Where I should fight, freeze, or flee or move forward in hope and grace.

I'm working on it though, I've got my eye on amygdala today and I plan to whisper encouraging things to it if it decides to fire up my nervous system.

We'll make room on the stage for the hippocampus to file away memories, really if it performs well we'll give it a raise. Perhaps the neocortex has lessons to share, but we aren't there anymore. The prefrontal cortex will know it's alright to do it's thing.

Challenges may come today, and it may not be perfect, but I'll show up anyway.
